Olympic "Hurdle" Jumper…
I am in the Moving Abroad Olympics and apparently training for hurdle jumping.
While everyone is catching a glimpse of Sochi in between figure skaters, I am plugging away at one challenge after another. Yesterday, my mom said, “Geez Amy, I would have given up at the first challenge!”
NEEEEEEVER! I am the Olympic athlete of facing obstacles and hurdling over them. Yes, of course, I trip over some of those metaphorical hurdles, falling on my face.
Nelson Mandela once said…
The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.
That’s me! Each challenge just makes me work harder to make my dream happen. Where most people give up, I laugh in the face of adversity. I pick myself up, dust off the dirt and naysayers and move on.
Challenges of the week:
1. Expediting a passport including photos that don’t make me look like escaped convict.
2. Applying for Qualified Teacher Status licensing in the UK. Including gathering massive amounts of paperwork.
3. Rewrite resume into a CV and create cover letters.
4. Apply for jobs
5. Plan weeklong holiday to London in March, including job interviews and school visits.
I will hurdle away and take home the gold in that Moving Abroad Olympics.
